Alpine pasture hikes:

The paths to these alpine pastures are well prepared and therefore not muddy or slippery - the best thing about it? You are guaranteed to have nature almost to yourself! Not only the nature - also the waiting, cosy Almstuben. They provide cosy warmth and a delicious cup of hot chocolate! And perhaps a warm, fresh Kaiserschmarren to go with it? Short hikes that quickly lead back to the valley:

The closed gondola takes you comfortably and dryly to the mountain station, from where you can make a short rain hike to the summit or a round hike. No matter what you choose: Afterwards, you should warm up with a hot chocolate in the panorama restaurant at the mountain station!

Driving mode: daily from 09:00-16:00

This hike has a very special advantage on rainy days: some parts of the trail run dry through adventurous caves and tunnels! The first part of the hike leads along a gravel road through a spruce forest until you reach the exciting rock tunnels. Excitement guaranteed: the tunnels, which can be up to 30 metres long, can sometimes get quite dark. If you don't want to stumble into puddles of water, you should take a torch with you. Otherwise, individual "windows" provide a little light every now and then! Warm food and drinks await you at the Sulzlalm.

Opening hours: Mid May - Mid October

This hike even has two advantages on rainy days! Firstly, a cosy parlour with warm delicacies awaits you at Cafe Uta, where you can warm up and dry off wonderfully. Secondly, you pass the Simms waterfall, which is particularly strong on rainy days.

Tip: you should definitely walk the circular route and marvel not only at the impressive waterfall, but also at the approx. 105 metre high suspension bridge!

Opening hours: Wednesday day off

until 09.10. from 10:00-18:00 hrs

Waterfall Hikes:

Waterfall walks are particularly impressive on rainy days, as the waterfalls carry much more water and are therefore even bigger and stronger!

  • Waterfall circuit in Schoppernau

Summer action

Flying Fox über Schröcken

Canyoning to Flying Fox

Are the mountains too steep today?
And you went to the open-air swimming pool yesterday? Then you're ready for more action today: There is a wide choice around Schröcken - the choice is yours!

There is a lot to discover in the mountain world around the Aadla Walser Chalets. And yet - sometimes there can be a little more action!

When the mountains are too high, the walking paths too long or the outdoor pool too wet - adrenaline often helps: it's all about the right dose! The providers in Warth-Schröcken offer programmes suitable for children and families, which have the right thing for every action level - of course also for the older and braver ones!

Suitable for young and old is the Adventure Park in Schröcken. In addition to the high ropes course with rope course and rope slides, there is the Flying Fox in the middle of the forest over the river.

Like something out of an adventure book: At the Indiana Jones Tour Voodoo magic makes you brave and with Flying Fox you go over the deep gorge, into a mysterious forest to a silver cave ... shhh!

This 2-hour tour is perfect for families with children and teens aged 7 and up.

For cool families: get into your wetsuit and off you go to the Mini-Canyoning! Equipped with helmet and rope, you practise abseiling, then jump into the cold water: after slides and climbing sections, you go to a waterfall - there you abseil down from 10 metres. Fancy some more?

2 hour tour for families with children and teens from 7 years.

Teen canyoningWith a neoprene suit, helmet and rope, you practise abseiling and then get into the cold water. Slides, climbing sections, through a waterfall... and at the second waterfall you abseil down from 20 metres. Wow!

2-hour tour for families and teens aged 12 and over.

A different kind of landscape! High up, you get adrenaline kicks without getting wet. When the forest and gorge "fly by", you are (hopefully) hanging on a strong rope. At Flying Fox Park you'll whizz down wild gorges 20-90 metres above the ground. If you can take your eyes off the ground as you hurtle down the valley, you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking view!

A tip from the Aadla holiday fairy: At Children's climbing on Monday afternoons, children from the age of 6 learn how to tie knots, abseil and climb on natural rock.

With the Diedamskopf gondola lift you can enjoy the view in total relaxation, even with children, dogs and prams, because nothing can happen with the closed gondolas!

Nature explorers take note!

What could be more relaxing than spending time in beautiful nature? With children, of course, with variety and excitement! Here you can find out where to find natural phenomena such as gorges, fossils and gypsum holes on easy hikes.

The nature around the Aadla Chalets can be explored on family-friendly, easy hikes: Rare natural phenomena, the puzzle ring, themed trails, a geo-hike and much more are waiting to be discovered by you! Of course, we also have alpine pastures with cows, goats, rabbits and not at all shy marmots on offer!

Maybe you fancy a magic trail or a puzzle ring? The green puzzle ring is a short and entertaining hiking trail including a puzzle rally for the whole family. Riddle enthusiasts discover some funny and whimsical stations along the trail from Lech to the Rud-Alpe (with the accompanying workbook), which demand a lot of brain power. The reward at the end is an award, a water playground and a wonderful terrace with hearty food for the hungry.

Important: Please be sure to get the workbook for the riddle rally in advance from the Lech Tourist Office for Euro 5,- or ask the Aadla Holiday Fairy for it. 🙂 Because without the book, the secrets of the puzzle ring remain closed.

We are also happy to tell you which natural treasures are hidden in the mountains! Easy hiking routes between lakes and gorges await nature explorers. In the nature reserve, fossils and sinkholes (gypsum holes) tell stories of times long past.

At the simple Geo hiking trail Rüfikopf you will find fossils of ammonites, sea urchins, crinoids, and much more.
How did they get here in the mountains?

Carnivorous plants? There are also such things here in the mountains, but also other survival artists.

They can be discovered at the ArlenzauberwegYou hike from the mountain station of the Lech-Oberlech cable car via the dragonfly lake past flower meadows to the Rud-Alpe. The magical treasures and the characteristics of animals and plants are presented at more than 20 stations along the fabulous hiking trail.
Afterwards, you will also know more about the Arle, the Arlberg's namesake!

Discoverer natures who would like to do a moderately difficult hike will find a lot of fun in the "Sea of Stone"You will find very interesting fossils, cow's foot shells and thunderbolts. You can stop off at the Freiburger Hütte at Formarinsee - a real treat!

A nature reserve like an Emmental cheese: you hike past over 1000 sinkholes (gypsum holes) that can be up to 35m deep.
Sounds dangerous, but it's not!

In the Auer Ried-Argenschlucht you will discover the power of water, old cultural landscapes, the mighty Kanisfluh and 50 rare plants, all of which are at the same time stops on the hikes for nature lovers.

Thundering white water as a relic of the ice age: as a powerful natural wonder you can Glacier Mill Schröcken marvel at. When meltwater in a crevasse tumbled down like a whirlpool, a glacier mill formed under enormous pressure. The attraction of this small natural wonder lies not only in its power and beauty, but also in the millions and millions of oxygen molecules that rise up and stimulate the immune system.

If, after so many mountains, you feel like a stroll in the city, no problem: in just one hour you can be in the city centre. Bregenzwhere you can also visit the impressive festival stage.
